Happy World Card Making Day everyone! I've already noticed that there is a LOT of activity going on today in the paper crafting world, and that is sure to increase throughout the day! There are challenges, prizes and inspiration galore out there in the scrapping world, so make sure to check everything out. A great place to look is the General Scrappin' message board at Two Peas.
Today, over at Two Peas in A Bucket, I posted this card in celebration of World Card Making Day. I had this badge from Basic Grey's Paper Cottage collection, that I thought would be perfect for a friend ship card, and it turns out, I really love how the whole think turned out. I mixed October Afternoon's Midway collection, Pink Paislee's Portfolio and Artisan collectiions as well as a little Lily Bee's Persnickety collection as well. Then I topped everything off, with my new favorite accessory, these My Mind's Eye, enamel dots. Oh, so much fun! I'm really happy with how it turned out. I think I may keep this one, to remind myself to be kind to me. :)
Next up, over at the Lily Bee Design blog today, we're celebrating World Card Making Day, too!
The Design Team really came together to bring a heap of beautiful and inspiring cards using the latest collections from Lily Bee Design! That plus fun, card-related giveaways make it a must- visit today!
For my World Card Making Day card on the Lily Bee blog, I fused all three of the newest collections from Lily Bee into one card - Christmas Cheer, Persnickety and Autumn Spice. Yep, they are all here in one little card!
I used a couple older Martha Stewart punches for this card - the bird is from a Christmas punch from a couple years ago, and the tag, is one I got several years ago. I'm not sure that either are still made, but the same could be easily created with a digital die cut machine. :)
Lastly, I thought I would share a layout I created for Two Peas, it seems like months ago, but is now live today as this week's challenge!
The challenge at Two Peas in a Bucket, here. It's all about being inspired by art. I came across this drawing on Pinterest. When I found it, I immediately knew it would translate into a really unique scrapbooking page. Because of it's modern feel, I thought this hipster-style instagram photo of my husband would be the perfect coupling for this page. I also decided to go very minimalistic on my design, to maintain the integrity of the inspiration for my page. It was a great exercise to stretch myself out of my normal comfort zone and try something new. I really am happy with the end result.
If you want to try and challenge yourself by becoming inspired by a piece of art, come over to Two Peas and play along with the challenge for your chance at a $5 gift certificate. All the details can be found here.
