American Crafts :: December Daily :: The Interviews

Hi everyone! I'm here today with my first full reveal of some of the stuff I've been working on for my first ever, December Daily! Today's spread is one of 3 introduction spreads that I hope to keep a tradition in my future December Daily's. I wanted to interview my kids each year to see how their thoughts, views, handwriting, and tastes change through the years as I begin the tradition of keeping track each December.

For this spread, I used American Crafts, Hollyday along with a few elements from Chap. The color theme of my DD is red, white, cream, silver, grey, kraft and black. These are also the colors that I prefer to decorate my home with for the holidays, so it seamed the natural progression to do the same for my very first December Daily!

I absolutely LOVE the reds silvers and greys in this collection. With the splashes of glitter here and there it is just perfection for the holidays. I really love how these came together. The only thing missing?

I need to get a couple of mini candy canes to have coming out of these adorable silver vellum envelopes!! Aren't they just the cutest?! I love them!

I'm really excited about how this is coming together! I have to admit, though, after seeing so many people's "finished" bases, I was feeling a little bummed that I wasn't doing it "right". But then I got to thinking - it's not about right or wrong ways of putting it together, it's about how I'm documenting our December! I really love how Ali Edwards (the creative mind behind the first DD's) puts her daily's together - I'm just not sure if mine will come together exactly the same. We'll see!

Are you making a DD? If so, I'd love to hear your experience with them. Are you following a certain "template" or are you winging it like I am? I must be honest, the idea seemed daunting last year for me to try, but I'm so glad that I dove in head first and "made" myself do it by purchasing the Ali Edwards December Daily kit from Studio Calico, last month. I think if I hadn't I wouldn't be doing it now, and I'm already excited about what I've documented already! Later this week I'll be sharing a couple more intro spreads, and I hope you join me! It should be fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a super spectacular day! :D
