October Afternoon :: 4th of July Inspiration

Hi everyone! Today over at the October Afternoon blog we're showing you some inspiration for the upcoming 4th of July weekend here in the States. I created this fun little card using our OA tin pins as a focal point along with several scraps from recent projects that I had lying around prior to packing up for our trip. It's a great mix of OA product from Rocket Age, Report Card, and Farm Fresh. I just love how these older collections work so well with the newsest collections.

If you've followed by blog for any length of time you know I really like to challenge myself to use up my scraps as much as possible. After each project, I typically push my scraps to a pile off to the side of my scrap area until it becomes untolerable, usually a pile of a menagerie of products. It's then that I put everything away apart from the tiny bits and pieces that just don't seem to belong anywhere any longer. Those final bits and pieces are what I've decided to bring with me on my trip, and I thought about creating a challenge for all of us that I'll be telling you more about in the next few days, called 'Scrap Your Scraps Summer' challenge. This is also a great time for a challenge like this, because scrapping with scraps, often takes less time (at least for me), and it clears out your space, just in time for all the new items that will be shipping in the late summer/early fall from this summer's CHA New Releases.

In the meantime of announcing and preparing for the scrap challenge, head over the OA blog and check out all the fun ideas for decorations and tablepieces for a patriotic holiday! If you think you might be interested in taking part in my challenge, get those scraps out and organized and I'll be back in a day or two with more information!

Today we're celebrating my son's 5th birthday, so we've got a full day packed full of activities and fun and lots of memories to share for sure! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!
