Weekender :: Recap & Photos

Happy weekend everyone! If you're in the USA, Happy Memorial Day weekend!! The unofficial start to summer!! Wahoo! It's pretty overcast here this morning, but we're expecting the rest of the weekend to be gorgeous! We have a ton of things planned, like getting our veggies planted (finally), weeding, going to the beach, getting ready for a garage sale that likely won't happen till August, watching Harry Potter 3, since DD is absolutely obsessed with all things Harry Potter this week! Our weekend is packed that's for sure. It's a good thing that the hubs has a 3 day weekend! Wahoo!

I thought I would share those projects that were featured over at the American Crafts blog the other day, here today and share a couple photos. Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by here and at the AC blog on Wednesday and shared kind words with me! You are so sweet and I've said it before and I'll say it now, I couldn't do this all without you! Your words lift me up so much, more that you'll likely ever know and it means so much that you all support me so. So, thank you!! ;DHappyHappYDay_card2_AHHappy Happy Happy Day

Lots of fun stuff!! I really loved working with American Crafts and Paige (hugs!) on this project!! Thanks for everything!! ;D

Next up, I got a question from Lynn about these "flowers" on my October Afternoon layout from last weeks Color Splash Challenge:OAMono_Yeloow_Detail1_AHShe asked how I made them. And I totally forgot to link it up to my post on Monday, but it's actually a DIE! Yep! It's from Lil' Inker Designs! You get one little die to create all the "petals" an voila - the PERFECT pinwheel/flower! I love it and I think it's totally worth the $7.50, because that die will be getting a LOT of use from me! ;D Thanks for the question, Lynn!

Lastly, I thought I'd share a couple recent kiddo pics. We've been having lots of fun and busy, busy times lately in the Heller household. And CEO, Mom's been taking lots o pics! Here's a few to share:2011_buildingraisedbed_AH
A couple weekend ago we started building our first raised bed. I found the instructions via Pinterest to this site. It was SO easy! The kind people at Home Depot even cut everything for us! All we had to do was put it together, and as you can see we had a little helper in the process. :)2011_rainstorm_AH2011_rainstorm2_AHThen last weekend we had a day of summer squalls. They come through here about every June - it's totally warm and with this one, there was no thunder so the kids were able to go out and play to their hearts content and they LOVED it! They got all decked out in their swimwear and had a ball!

Lastly, we rarely get a chance to go out for dinner as a family, especially on weekdays because of the hubs' work schedule, but on long weekends like this he gets home early, so we decided to head out for dinner and for a treat at our local farm dairy ice cream shop for the tastiest ice cream around. Across the street (where the kids are looking) is one of the pastures where the dairy cows hang out. It's such a neat place and the kids loved it! It was a great way to kick off the Memorial Day weekend! ;D

Well, that about does it for me this weekend! I hope you enjoy your days off and if you have an extra long weekend like us, have a fabulous 3 days!! Thank you so much for stopping by! ;
