Do you ever have those projects where you think you're finished with it, photograph it or put it in your album, but you just "know" something isn't right with it? That is what happens to me a lot. And I thought I would show you an example of what happens in those situations. The first layout, is my final layout. The one below, well last night I "thought" it was my final layout. Did all the photography for it and everything, but this morning - ugh - something wasn't sitting with me. So I thought, well, let's see what color photos and filling this hole (on the left) would do - and that seems to have done the trick. I can now walk away from it satisfied! Phew, what a relief! I can't let those things go, unfortunately. Now back to business! LOL - I just love the woodgrain in this kit from the Little Black Dress kit club's April kit. That combined with he kit's oranges and natural tones made for the perfect backdrop for some fun pics of our trip to California in January. More specifically, California Adventure's Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. The kids LOVED this part of the park. I think it was one of the highlights for them - although there were MANY between Disneyland and California Adventure. It really was like a dream playground though, and they loved that.
I love the touched of green they've added to this kit. Just a hint. It really lends itself nicely to the warmth from the oranges and neutrals. I added some orange bakers twine to my layout ti add some extra pop and whimsy, but all the embellishments come from this gorgeous kit.
This fun, soaring bird is included in the die cut pieces from Glitz Design. The color wasn't exactly what I wanted for my layout, but I really loved the bird, so I took this mist and gave her a spritzing just to make her feathers a bit darker. Then I folded the wings slightly to give her more of a three dimensional shape, outlined her perimeter and voila. I love the result.
Well, friends, I hope you are continuing to have a wonderful weekend. I'm going to do some fun shopping with my Mom and get some more scrapping done! Yay! This week, I'll be bringing you some fun October Afternoon and my final post for the Little Black Dress Kit Club. Have a wonderful day! ;)
