Hi there everyone! Thank you so much for coming by my little blog yesterday for my Echo Park Guest Design gig! It was a lot of fun and I'm so glad you could join me!
Today I thought I'd share a couple projects that you may have only seen a peak of so far, the cards and the altered Spring/Easter baskets using Echo Park Paper. First up are the cards. I created 2 cards using For the Record. Such a beautiful collection this is, and such a unique take on the trendy "vintage" styling and colors. I really love the happy greens and blacks and beiges in this collection!Next up is my altered project. I have had these adorable, tiny baskets on my craft table for about a month, just waiting patiently for the perfect project. This was it! I created these fun little Spring/Easter baskets specially customized with these fabulous tubes from SRM Stickers. They are the perfect addition to any gift basket, party favor, you name it.
I separated out all the jumbo Easter Reese's pieces (and ate a few too!) then put each color into an individual tube. This creates a stronger graphic element to my gift. Then I created the "grass' on the inside of the baskets out of patterned paper from the Springtime collection (along with all the other paper and stickers you see).
I've found two ways of making basket "grass" out of patterned paper. 1) Simply cut strips into 1/4" strips or the faster way 2) Use a paper shredder!! This creates super quick and easy paper patterned grass. PLUS, it is a perfect way to use up scraps, or patterned paper that you may have hoarded for sometime - AND you don't have to go out and buy any! ;) Love that!
So, I hope you've liked seeing a couple more of these projects in detail and with some more explanation. They were all so fun to make, I hope you all dig into your Echo Park stash soon! And remember, you have until Thursday to sign up for my giveaway from courtesy of Echo Park on this post here. I'll be announcing the winners on Friday! Good luck! ;)
