Happy weekend, everyone! Hopefully you're well on your way to having an enjoying and relaxing time whether you'll be spending it outside or scrapping the hours away! Today I'll be scrapping quite a bit then cleaning out some of the garden beds with my husband while the kids run circles around the house! He he!
I do have one thing to share this weekend and it features TONS of brand new product from Glitz Design, My Mind's Eye, and Jenni Bowlin along with a spattering of vintage ephemera. It's the new April kit from the Little Black Dress Kit Club, Life . . .Be Still. Warm orange tones and browns are the predominant theme in this gorgeous, and untraditional April kit.
I created this fun layout of my daughter when we were at the San Diego Zoo this past winter, hugging this incredibly realistic elephant statue. Since about birth, she's been "wildly" fascinated with animals. From a very young age she's wanted to know everything about them. She's quite the little biologist already. I will not be surprised at all if she does become involved with animals as her profession when she gets older, it's that ingrained in her, which I love. She loves to read periodical-type books on animals and we have all the Blue Planet, Planet Earth Series on DVD. It's that passionate with her, and we love it and I was excited to document a moment of her fascination with this page.
*One tip on this layout* : The velvet butterfly shown above on left, came in the kit, stark white. I wanted to use it on this kit, but didn't want it white. So I sprayed it with this mist, and it worked PERFECTLY! I was amazed! It dried quickly, and I had the perfect embellishment for my layout. Gotta love that! I also used it on the blue and white receipt paper behind the corrugate just to take the white edge off from being so bright. For my ink splatters on the background I used this mist. It just goes to show you can customize just about everything! ;)
Have a wonderful weekend! ;)
