Happy Wednesday everyone. If you celebrate Fat Tuesday yesterday, I hope you had a great time! It's not a tradition here really, but I saw several things online yesterday of the different traditions, such as pancakes in England...huh, who woulda thougt?! Sounds fun!
Anyhoo, today I'm bringing you a couple more layouts from the Little Black Dress Kit Club's March kit, Black Tie Love Affair. The layouts focus more on the subtle color included in this predominantly black white and red kit. First up is one I've titled U Have Focus. My daughter is 8 now, and she's now becoming more self disciplined and focused when it comes to self entertaining, which is so fun to see. I caught her in this moment taking in the Sunday morning funnies one day, and I just love how intent yet quietly entertained she looks. The way she's holding the paper and everything was just so "old school" and cute I had to capture it. I love how the papers in this kit really reflect that older time period with the celery green, red and aged greys. I used some of the "book pages", which are the newest release from Glitz Design's Love Games collection, as further emphasis on the newspaper in the photo. When I look at this layout it feels like my grandparents' house when I was growing up, and that's exactly the feel I wanted for it.
Next up is a little layout that I wanted to give a serene, yet dark feel for my little man sleeping. Don't mind that he has a headlamp on his head. LOL! This picture was taken when my Mom came to visit. Both the kids loved wearing her headlamp for their overnight stays in her space while she visited. She always makes it fun, popcorn, movies, maybe a lollipop card games - they love those times with their Dada.
I titled this one Sleepy Love using the stickers that came with the kit from Cosmo Cricket and Glitz Design. Then I underlined with stitching, each of the sweet words about my little guy on the book sheet above the photo. I didn't embellish a lot on this layout, mostly because I wanted to keep it simple. Sleep is such a simple time and I wanted to really keep the layout that way, too.
I hope that you are excited about the kit from the Little Black Dress this month! It's a great one! I'll be showing you a card here in the next week using one of my favorite papers from the kit. I can't wait.
Make sure you come back tomorrow, because I have a really special post to share and I'm really excited for you to see it! It has to do with Crate Paper - all I'm going to say! ;) Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by!!
