Back Home + CHA ReCap

Hi Friends! I am finally back home in CT and (sort of) back into the home groove. Being in Southern California for nearly a week and a half was fantastic! But coming home to nearly 4' of snow was not so much fun. I just saw we're supposed to get more snow Tuesday and again on Thursday/Friday this week. My husband has been spending all his free time up on our roof shoveling snow (4+ hours yesterday) and will be again today, prior to the SuperBowl. I'm going to be crude here and tell you that it just plain SUCKS! I miss the warm air, the beach walks, the palm trees, the green grass. I think I found my inner California Girl on this trip and I am now bound and determined to live there some day! It's a hop skip and a jump from WA, and I feel like I am D.O.N.E. with all this cruddy winter weather!

CHA was fantastic! So creative, colorful and inspiring! I saw so many familiar faces and met a whole slew of new people I've known only via FB and my Design Teams. I must admit, even though it was my 2nd show, I was still very shy and aw-struck by all the talent in one place! I met people who had no clue who I was which was totally intimidating! I've only been doing this gig now for a bit over a year so I don't expect anyone to know me - LOL. But those that did know me were totally awesome!! I didn't get pics of me with many people mostly because I was too shy to ask, but I'll drop a few names of all the wonderful people I met - both who new who I was and didn't! He he!

Me with Kimberly Crawford - card maker extraordinaire, Spellbinders DT member, and owner of Mint Motif stamps - love her!

Now for the fun paper stuff - the stuff I think were WINNERS from the show! (Besides all the new Crate Paper, and new SRM Stickers stuff!)

Favorite New Patterned Papers

Crate Paper (of course), Pink Paislee, Sassafrass, Cosmo Cricket, October Afternoon, My Mind's Eye

Pink Paislee - I know I said it before I left, but this line up of goodies blew my socks off in person! I am SOOO in love with Daily Junque, Hometown Summer and Soiree.

PinkPaislee1Just look at those wood alphas that they inked!! S.W.O.O.N!!!PinkPaisleeDJ2PinkPaislee_SoireePinkPaislee_HS And how CUTE is this display?? LOVE iT!!PinkPaislee_Display

2) Sassafrass - Sweetly Smitten +

SAssafras_SweetlySmitten
Ellie's Tale and Paper Crush are adorable, too! Ellie's Tale in particular is great for boys or just fun "primary" palette. This paper in particular will be a MUST HAVE for moi.Sassafras--ElliesTaleAnd here's the new super cool innovation from Sassafras, "Foldies". Essentially, it's a flat sheet of patterned paper that is pre-cut/perfed, with folding steps to create 3-dimensional flowers on a layout.Sassafras_-FoldiesHere's a sample of the result - super coolL! You can really see the dimension and layered effect! These will be a MUST HAVE!Sassafras_Foldies_Sample

October Afternoon - Rocket Age & New AcoutramentsOA_RocketAgeCannot wait to work with this line of papers - A-dorable!!!!OA_MistsYep! OA has come out with their own line of mists!! WOW, can't wait to try these!OA_MiscOkay, this was probably the thing I keep thinking about from the whole show - you see that pkg up there - it's called Miscellany - it comes with buttons, tags, chipboard - all the things you need for your pages without buying the whole line!! I love this concept!! It's like a kit club from a manufacturer!! LOVE it! Then there's the buttons and rubber embellishments - super cute!!

I didn't take any photos of Cosmo Cricket, because I figured they've already shown everything on their blog. So if you want to see their delicious new products, head over to the CC blog to check it out!BG_Sweethtreads

I want to mention, too I loved the new lines from Basic Grey, too. Especially Sweet Threads. They also came out with an adorable Birthday line and vacation line called Lauderdale that is totally bright and vibrant.BG_BirthdayOkay, now for some super cool new things I'm looking forward to!

Favorite New "Stuff"

Basic Grey - Petals. These are printed canvas/cardstock layering pieces for creating your own dimensional floral embellishments. Super for both card makers and scrapbookers. These are on my MUST HAVE list!BasicGrey_CanvasPetals

We R Memory Keepers - 8 step punch to shaped die cut scrapbook pagesWrMemoriesKeepers
It sounded like each of these will retail for $29.95. I'm looking forward to these. Hopefully they'll carry them at Michael's so the 40% off coupon will come in handy!!

Provo Craft - Small (Paper Sized!) Screen Printer!!
Ever since the Yudu came out, I've been dreaming of this product - not sure if it's new or not, but I must have it - small sized Yudu!!ProvoCraft

EK Success - Plaid Punch and Smash It bookEKSuccessMUST HAVE this plaid border punch!EKSmash_itThis Smash book is a scrapbook for the non-scrapbooker. It's back to old school scrapbooking - nothing fancy, almost like a journal that you smack your photos onto and write in. Going back to basics - which seemed to be a re-occurring sentiment I heard a lot at the show that consumers wanted. There was a lot of hub-bub at this portion of the EK Success booth, that's for sure.

Making Memories - 3 layers of embellishments/ribbons/wands called Bravissimo!Making-MemoriesThis line takes all the elements to making an old fashioned "ribbon" and separates them - you can purchase the center as an embellishment, the accordion flower or the whole thing. Fun concept.
