. . . an adorable card that sends "fawnd" thoughts for the holidays!
Hello there 12 Days of Christmas Card followers!! Welcome to the 2nd Day of Christmas Cards!!
If you are new to the series, please check out all the details here.
Today I'm bring you a fun little card that is a bit untraditional in that it's not overtly "Christmas" in theme. This is somewhat funny to me because all the product is Christmas in theme. The papers, and the felt deer, flower are all from the Eskimo Kisses collection from Basic Grey, the clouds and the snowflake gems are from Martha Stewart. On this card, I created my own sentiment on the computer using the fonts Cocktail Shaker and GillSans Light.
I love subtle dimension in my cards. I have found that my favorite 3 dimensional adhesive for cards is the Scotch Craft Roll - which is getting harder and harder to find in my neck of the woods. I recently stocked up at them from Staples. They used to carry this at Target but it's been discontinued there. It's great because it's not as deep as most 3D squares or strips, so you get the dimension without the bulk. Plus it comes on a convenient roll, that I love because I can customize each piece.
Now onto the sketch for Day 2! I really love this sketch and I can't wait to see what you do with it! I've already gotten a few cards created from Day 1 - awesome!! Beautiful, too! Just remember, it isn't a race, you don't have to get me cards the same day. This is a busy time for us all, and I don't want you to stress about this - it should be fun and hopefully a relaxing way of getting your cards ready and made for the holidays! But keep it up and tell your friends! I know some of you already have - THANK YOU!! ;)
In addition, I've decided to set up a Flickr group, here with all the sketches with my card samples. I would LOVE it if you uploaded your cards here, too! This will make it a great place for everyone to gain inspiration from each other!! Plus, it will make it much easier for me to keep track of things coming in. If you are linking up to your blogs, please feel free to link up to the flickr group as well. Let me know if that makes sense. I don't want to confuse anyone! :)
Well, what did you think? Do you like the sketch? Are you keeping track of the word search? Hope so! As well kick this weekend into full gear I hope you'll have time to play along! Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful Saturday!! Big hugs!
