Crate Paper :: Mixing Things Up

Ack! This got set up too soon! Sorry about that - I didn't get a chance to write anything. Ha! Oh, well!
Happy Friday friends! It's "Black Friday" here in the states and my daughter and I already went out shopping this morning (at 6am!) and we just got back about an hour ago. I'm wiped already, but I'm still needing some things so I may go out again in a little bit. :)
Today I'm bringing what is probably my last fall themed layout of the year since we are just a few days away from December. This was a layout I created for Crate Paper using several of their lines all mixed up together. I used Snow Days, Brook, Lilian and Pink Plum. I think the mix looks really great together!
One tip I would give you is to experiment with your newer and older lines together. I like doing this by starting with a neutral patterned paper as my base. For instance, here I wanted a fall theme for my layout so I started with my neutral from Snow Day (Flakes).
I needed something that would tie in with both my son's orange shirt and my daughter's pink one,  then decided I wanted to build on that with Pink Plum. As I was going through my Crate stash, I saw this gorgeous older piece from the Lillian collection (the salmon color). THen building on that I tossed in the whites and earthy yellow from Brook, and poof, a tight color scheme is pulled together pretty quickly.

It really helped too, that I am LOVING this set of chip flowers by Sassafras. These tie in beautifully with this color scheme and mix of pattern as well. ON this flower above I used the Sass chip, along with Brook and Pink Plum from Crate Paper and I love the way it came out. Very eclectic.
That wraps up everything crafty for me today! I hope you have a wonderful Friday! I am working on some crafty stuff this weekend, along with some other household projects, so I'll be back in a couple days! Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!! Hugs!
