Hello friends! It's Monday! And as promised I'm revealing two of my projects from this month's Little Black Dress Kit Club kit, Lucky in Love for November! This kit is packed full of gorgeous pieces from The Girls' Paperie Tinsel and Twig line, the newest from Teresa Collins - including some gorgeous "Blingage" pieces, House of Three's - Anthology by Pink Paislee and some of the latest from Glitz Design all from the latest collections, creating a stunningly cohesive kit! So here we go!
"U Appreciate Nature"
With this layout, I took a bit of an untraditional take on our visit to the Christmas Tree farm. My daughter just loves nature, and she was so taken with the trees and how the snow formed on them, that I was able to get a couple of these images of her admiring nature's wonder and I just loved the sentiment.
I used pieces from the Girls' Paperie Tinsel and Twig collection included in the kit along with the gorgeous Anthology glazed paper to create my snowflakes (using the new MS snowflake punches). Then I embellished with all the fabulous goodies that the kit offers including fabric brads, velvet flower from Maya Road, pearl buttons and probably my favorite addition, this outstanding gemstone like button - it's a stunner!
I also LOVE the glittery mesh fabric that comes with the kit! A subtle glitter makes it pop on my layout. I love it!
2 Angles- Same Messed Up Proportions
For my next layout, I took inspiration from a gorgeous layout recently created by Larissa Albernaz here
to make a really fun layout based on our Christmas tree from last year. It was a joke, this tree. It must have looked really gorgeous at the farm, or our toes were frozen and we just decided to get the closest, one, whichever the case, this tree had all kinds of proportion issues! It was HUGE at the bottom. It leaned into the wall, we couldn't get it to stand straight, mainly because it had a misshapen trunk. Well, let's be honest, it was COMPLETELY curved. LOL. I tried to take pictures from every angle, so show it wasn't as bad as it looked in person, but really there was no hope! BUT with all the decorations on it and the lights (that liked to go out in the middle every once in a while) it did alright. But it was still a funny tree. But well worth it's own layout, for sure.
I used the gorgeous black Maya Road flowers along with vintage book pages and patterned paper to create the "star" at the top of my tree. The tree itself is mostly blocks taken from the marvelous patterned paper from Teresa Collins, along with some pieces from a gorgeous polka dot from Glitz Design. I added several of the Glitz journaling blocks and various embellishments to complete the design.
The I stitched a tree shape over my entire layout to give it that extra tree effect.
I also stitched a border in red around the perimeter and did my journaling within that frame. This is a super fun and easy technique that I really LOVE and want to incorporate into my layouts more. Like what you see? Hopefully! Then hop on over to the Little Black Dress Kit Club to get your hands on the November kit! But hurry - last month's kit sold out, so make sure you get over there before they are all gone!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I will be back in a couple days with the rest of my projects from this month's kit for the Little Black Dress kit club! Until then , have a SUPER Monday!
