Hi everyone! Happy Thursday!
Today I thought I would bring you a couple cards I made for Crate Paper using Restoration and School Spirit some time back. This first one was a bit of an experiment on my part. :) I recently started dabbling in ink and other mediums to alter my paper surfaces. So I decided to give this cute little lamp some texture and crackle with some of this fun stuff. I just applied it to the base of the lamp and let it dry. Up close it gives a really great ceramic effect. I also trimmed off (with jewelry wire cutters) one of my ball chains that looped around a set of chipboard I had to make this fun little on/off switch for my lamp.
I used crackle medium on top of my chipboard.
I also decided to make a fun little birthday card with gift card holder using School Spirit. I love the idea of making gift card holders out of various means on the front of cards. I have experiemented with many of these ideas, and I suppose I should share more of them. I love the idea of the package being hidden yet obvious on the front of the card rather than just falling out of the card when opened. For this one I used a previously made envelope and added a bit of fun, again with the ball chain through the loop then hanging coordinating tags from it. It just makes you want to open it. :
Here's what it looks like closed,
I really like making these interactive cards. They have a scrappy appeal which I love. Plus, I think if I received one like this - I would just have to find a way to integrate it into a layout about the birthday - Hidden journaling pocket already taken care of. He, he! I hope you have a wonderful day today!
Thank you so much for stopping by :)
