I {Heart} Tags!

I am really inspired by tags lately. Not sure what it is, but I am a sucker for those little round kraft tabs at the top. Plus my canvas is premade, and I don't have to think about the shape. Then there is the utility factor - taking something as utilitarian as an office supply tag and making it somehow lovely has a real appeal to me. Plus, they are just so darn cute!
When I was on vacation this summer, I scored a bunch of different tags at a LSS. White, cream, envelope-style, extra large - all different and all fabulous! I have tons of ideas for these tags and I'm sure you 'll be seeing me use a wide range of them soon! In fact, I made a LO just last night with an envelope style tag for hidden journaling - love it!
For now, I am going to show you one of my recent favorites. I made this tag as a part of a set of 3. I'm only showing you one today, the others will make an appearance another day.
For the tag, I layered 4 different patterned papers, an overlay, journaling tag, felt embellishment, sticker, stitching and border punch on one little tag and I love the result! One of my favorite aspects is the little brown "hello" sticker tucked in the corner made with SRM Stickers new sticker sheet that includes brown, white as well as black sentiments called We've Got Your Sticker - Hello.

One things that I learned making this tag, particularly about sewing on a gift tag - is to make sure you cover the back of the tag with another tag (preferably - or coordinating cardstock) and loop your ribbon through both holes - the end result looks very striking and professional, perfect for a lovely gift.

Well, in less than a week my daughter will be in school today as a 3rd grader {gasp} and my son will be days away from starting his 4's program 4 days a week. They are both so excited, and I am so excited for them, too - and for me, frankly! :) I have a lot planned with my new found time including a much needed return to working out regularly and day-time crafting (which I prefer). I also have a big brand development/design project that I am excited to tackle coming up that I need to get going on as well. Things are about to get really busy - but I love it that way!
Thanks so much for stopping by today - I hope you have a wonderful Thursday!
