Oh, and while we are talking about Elle! She has a fantastic, FREE class coming up in August. This is one class you CANNOT miss! Let me just say that Ali Edwards, Christine Middlecamp and are just a few of the top name scrapbookers contributing to this amazing class. If you haven't already, check.this.out!!
YAY!!! I am so excited about today!! It's my debut post for Elle's Studio's Monthy Inspiration Gallery! I am SO inspired by Elle's fresh design and colors that my projects were a such a pleasure to complete! I just love what came out of this assignment!
One of my favorite aspects of Elle's tags is the repetition of fresh colors in all her tags. In this layout I decided to use them a little unconventionally for my photos down the right side of the page. I loved using the matching colors in the tree different sets of tags I used:chic note tags, date and place strips, and lined journaled tags to create this effect.
Here's a close-up.
One thing I really like to do with almost all my tags is double their usage by cutting them in half. I love the colors so much, that I want more than one available for lots of projects. In the picture above I used a half of a tag at the top of the layout to add color in the corner of the page and to bring your eye down to the title.
Another half tag. What's the point of wasting a half a tag behind a photo when you can use the other half later? Not sure - I say cut them all in half! LOL!
Here's a card, and the very first project I made when I received my Elle's Studio goodies. I love how it turned out. My sister loved it, too. It was for her birthday back in June. Note to self: I need to get this card back to her! LOL! I borrowed it so I could photograph it since I had to give it to her right away. LOL!
I just LOVE the colors in the summer line of papers and tags!
And here's a layout I made of my son "Making a Splash, or 2!" from his kiddie pool frolicking a couple weeks ago. He would run from across the backyard and jump, long-jump style, into the pool making all kinds of splashing. It was adorable.
I love the 3" tags that I used as a border along the right side, the greens and turquoises really speak "water" to me and layering them in a scallop fashion helps to re-emphasize that feel.
I love using Thickers and mini stickers on these tags, too. You can do so much more than journal on them, it's fabulous!
And of course, when you do want to journal, they are perfect. I love these particular tags, because Elle was brilliant to think about having vertical AND horizontal orientations in this pack!! When I discovered this, I was like "WOW" how clever!! And the vertical spot was just ideal for this layout! Thanks, Elle!! You are one creative and clever cookie! And about the nicest person ever! I was lucky enough to spend a day with Elle a few weeks back while here in WA, and I can truly say I have a new friend, we had a blast!! Didn't we, lady?!
Well, that about does it for me today! I hope you have a wonderful day!! And thanks so much for stopping by! I am off to the airport to pick up my fabulous husband! :) I'll be back soon! :)
