Inspired Butterflies!

I was at the grocery store the other night and saw this delicious magazine cover from Martha Stewart Weddings. It was not the first time I'd seen it with drooling eyes, but it was the first time that I thought - okay, WOW, now that is something I have to try to create! That night, I went home and started looking for butterflies in my stash. I knew I didn't want to do stamps, and I knew I didn't have a die or a punch that would achieve the look I wanted. So I started searching through my Cricut cartridges. Would you believe that out of the 12 cartridges I only found ONE butterfly?! Seems pretty unbelievable, but it's true and it ended up that it was perfect! The cartridge was Paper Pups, and it was a sidekick to a little dog.

This was my one submission to Paper Crafts and it seems it was r.e.j. e.c.t.e.d. :( Oh, well! I really like it! :) And I love how the light plays through the butterfly wings! There's a better pic of that below! Hope you enjoy your weekend! I'll be hosting a plethora of 7 year old birthday festivities!
