Practical Scrappers - Cardstock

At Practical Scrappers this week, the challenge is all about cardstock and using it in creative ways. I knew I wanted a rough look to my card to showcase my white core cardstock. For inspiration, I went searching on Etsy and found this fabulous print (below). I knew it would be a great resource for my creativity. I love the graffiti-like feel, and the movement and texture you get just from simple yet chaotic lines and graphic images were very tactile.
For my card, I distressed the edges, of my center frame, using my favorite edge distresser by Close to My Heart, and I sanded the cardstock as well. I also made my own patterned paper by using strips of cardstock and piecing them together on the backside with tape, then sanding them together to make them appear cohesive. Lastly, I used a white marker to create my scribbles and illustrative parts to my card. Outside of the marker, thread and stamp, and one embossing folder, everything was created using only cardstock. Isn't it fun to see how you can challenge yourself with minimal supplies. I love it!
Come on over and join us this week, where the winner will receive a gift certificate from our fabulous sponsor:  Heart & Soul Rubber Stamp Company.
