Had a little time this morning, so I started working on this fun little card for the CARDS blog challenge this week - using newspaper as an embellishment. I LOVED using the newspaper. It is suprisingly very forgiving. I LOVED how shapable it was too! I will definitely use it again!
I created this ruffle-y flower type embellishment, simply by punching out dozens of scallop circles from the newspaper, then squishing each in the center, then affixing them tightly together to a piece of cardstock that I covered with several glue dots. When I finished, I added some pieces of the ribbon I was using to tie it into the over all design.
The "S" was originally an "O" that I cut in half then pieced together to make the uniquely shaped "S" I chose to keep the chipboard "naked" since the challenge was to use newspaper, I wanted to keep it as "raw" looking as possible. Hope you are having a great day! TFL!
