G-Thanks! - Caardvarks Sketchfest - Saturday Version

Whoa, this is my 3rd post of the day! Scroll down for more :)
Don't you just want to say, "Gee, Thanks!" sometimes? I do! I am a very casual person and I don't take sentiments too seriously. You won't see me putting a lot of long Hallmark-type sentiments on my stuff. When I purchase cards, I usually purchase ones that are blank so I can write what I want to say rather than having someone else's words fill in for my own. So when I send a thank-you, this is the type of thing I'd like to say - sweet, simple and casual.

I made this card for Caardvarks Sketchfest, Saturday Version. I decided that I wanted to take the sketch and squeeze it down so it didn't encompass the whole card, trying to simplify and minimize, and can I just say, I LOVE it! I wanted to use a monogram because I LOVE them, as I've mentioned before. I wanted to make the circle into a letter - first I started with the obvious, an "o" - then I thought of the G - which happens to be one of my favorite letters - for "Gee, Thanks!". Perfect. I think it worked out really swell! I love the mix of papers - colors, textures, patterns and the sense of a cool version of my grandpa's old library/office. It takes me back and feels current at the same time.
