I have ALWAYS been a fan of kraft paper. When I was in high school and college I used to make wrapping paper, decorations, everything out of kraft paper. And when it wasn't available, I would simply use a paper grocery store bags to make my creations.
Earlier this week, I just got this great blank kraft card set with envelopes on clearance at Target. (I loved that it had envelopes, too!) Then my Papertrey stuff came, too, and I was really wanting to play! One of my favorite discoveries is how Kraft and Versamark are so delightful together. I love the subtle background texture it creates.
I love making my own embellishments. I do a lot of hand work, especially with origami (I am sure that will show up here at some point). With this card, I wanted to play with rosettes and floral/snowflake images. Then one day this week I got the Garnet Hilll kids catalog in the mail, and there were so many fabbie color combos and textures that I was inspired by. They even had these great prop paper flower creations that were so delightful, I had to try to recreate them!
Turned out pretty fun.
