Get Sketchy #4- Guest Designer!

G, g, what begins with "G'? Gardenia, green, grey, glitter, Get Sketchy, Guest Designer all begin with the letter G! I happen to LOVE the letter "G", especially in its lower case form. But all these things, believe it or not, happened very haphazardly. They just all happen to line up and begin with the letter "g" and I didn't even realize it until now!

I am honored to be this week's Guest Designer at Get Sketchy! I love their sketches and I find I am being challenged and more creative because of them, so thank you Bree and the design team over there for giving me this position this week!

My initial reaction to this sketch was - "skyline". And since we live so close to NYC, I thought I would do an abstract city skyline. Then I was not finding the papers I wanted to inspire that thought, so I went with the gorgeous paper from My Mind's Eye - Amy Butler design. I coupled that with some great Basic Grey paper and voila - this is what I came up with. It's my interpretation of metropolitan - simple, clean and minimalist with a touch of whimsy and glitz. This is one of my favorites thus far, as I think it speaks to my own personal sense of style the most - modern with added softness and comfort - not too cold and hard-lined. Enjoy!
